7. Sustainability & social awareness
We involve staff & guests on a proactive environmental & sustainable attitude. At times with the Surfrider Foundation and daily activities; beach clean-ups, driving less and using water saving taps are some examples. Honouring a long tradition we organize surf baptisms and free surf experiences to impaired or social problematic children. All of those for free and on our time.
|Baleal, the Surfing Center of Peniche|
Baleal is the home for most surf camps and surf schools in Peniche district and it is considered the prime Surfcamp location in Portugal.
Our Surf Centre & Surf School includes reserved area for surf classes, lifeguards, a restaurant and refreshments service, toilets, showers, and a Wi-Fi system. All great pluses for the surf holiday in Peniche, no daily shuttling back and forth wasting time. If you travel with your family try our surf lessons for children, kids or teenagers, they'll have a great day surfing!
Within a short walk you'll find the various surf spots in Baleal and a short drive away all the incredible variety that makes Peniche the most consistente surf region in Portugal and Europe.
Portugal´s western region has more; you'll find awarded golf courses, and Peniche is famous for its fish and shellfish. The are a number of excellent wineries, and, in Óbidos, to one of the most well-preserved places of historical heritage in all Portugal.
If you fancy some giant surf you might want to visit Nazaré, located about 45m drive from Baleal and Peniche, Praia do Norte is home to the largest waves in the world and a spectacle worth watching.
